The Miami Dade College Foundation Hosts Hall Of Fame Ceremony

The Miami Dade College Foundation will honor the 2016 Hall of Fame class on April 26 at 6 p.m. in the Hilton Miami Downtown, 1601 Biscayne Blvd.

The event recognizes graduates who have accomplished profound exemplary achievements within their respective fields. This year the MDC Foundation will honor inductees in business, architecture, education, accounting, engineering, law, visual arts and other areas of study.

The 2016 Hall of Fame class includes Steve Rothaus, LGBT issues reporter with the Miami Herald, Telemundo Network national correspondent Lori Montenegro and Booker T. Washington Senior High School principal William Aristide.

Since 2005, the MDC Foundation has honored more than 100 alumni for their notable accomplishments including 2005 recipient Belkys Nerey, news anchor at WSVN 7 News.

“You don’t have to be rich, you just have to want to be better, and signing up for classes at MDC is the first step toward reaching your goal,” Nerey said. “I think it’s wonderful that through MDC, people can get an education and work toward changing their lives for the better.
