The Reporter Selects New Arts & Entertainment Editor

Nalini Singh, a sophomore in the Honors College at Kendall Campus, was appointed as The Reporter’s new arts & entertainment editor for the 2024-25 school year.

Singh, who began her role on Aug. 5, oversees A/E writers, assigns articles and illustrations and edits content.

“Everybody’s struggle with writing is so different,” Singh said. “But just being able to sit down with [the writers], give feedback [and explain] why [I] edited certain things is important.”

Singh joined The Reporter last spring, and wrote articles for the A/E section, including an album review on Charli XCX’s Brat, and stories on booktok and keeping up with micro-trends.

Her passion for arts and pop culture, which blossomed during her childhood, inspired her to be an A/E writer for The Ferguson Talon, the student newspaper at John A. Ferguson, until she graduated in June of 2023.

Singh is slated to graduate with an associate’s degree in mass communication/journalism from Miami Dade College this spring. She aspires to work in business or entertainment law.
