Now more than ever, the popular streaming program has been known to produce incredible original shows. So to all the readers who love to “netflix and chill,” here are the top four original Netflix series programs that should be next on your binging list.
Stranger Things
Stranger Things was released on July 15, 2016 and has become an incredibly popular show in just its first season.
This thrilling Netflix original is about a mother named Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), who lives in a small town in 1983 Indiana. Joyce and local authorities begin a terrifying investigation when her 12-year-old son, Will (Noah Schnapp), goes missing. As they search for answers, they discover a series of strange and extraordinary mysteries involving government experiments, supernatural creatures and a very unusual little girl.
This series can be quite terrifying and leave viewers asking many questions. The first season is available to watch on Netflix and the second season was announced to be released in Oct. 2017.
Santa Clarita Diet
Santa Clarita Diet is a brand new Netflix original series that was released on Feb. 3, 2017.
This quirky series is about a pair of married realtors, Sheila (Drew Barrymore) and Joel (Timothy Olyphant), who live a nice quiet life while raising their teenage daughter, Abby (Live Hewson), in Santa Clarita, California. Their normal life begins to change unexpectedly when Sheila suddenly goes through an odd transformation that makes their nice life unusual and filled with death. Although Sheila’s transformation makes her feel happy and filled with energy, this family attempts to find a way to make their life normal once again.
This comedic series is filled with laughs and can be quite addicting. However, there is only one season. No announcement has been made yet concerning the second season.

3% is a Brazilian dystopian Netflix original thriller that was developed from a 2009 independent pilot. This is Netflix’s first original Brazilian production and the second series produced in Latin America.
The show is set in a future where people are given a chance to go to the “better side” of a world that is divided between progress and wealth in the “Offshore,” and the devastation and poverty in the “Inland.” However, only 3% of the candidates chosen for this chance can make it to the Offshore. Candidates are forced to go through a series of tests that measure their intelligence, emotions and physical abilities. These tests help decide who is worthy to go live their lives; however, on the Offshore.
3%’s first season was released on Netflix Nov. 25, 2016. Each episode will have viewers shocked and interested as to who may enter the Offshore. Netflix has announced that there will be a second season, however, there has yet to be a set date as to when it will be released.
Between
Between is a Canadian sci-fi Netflix original that was released on May 21, 2015. The series is co-produced by City and Netflix, which distributes outside of Canada as a Netflix original.
The series is about a pregnant teenager, Wiley Day (Jennette McCurdy), who is a daughter of a minister living in a small town known as Pretty Lake. Life is normally simple in Pretty Lake until an outbreak of a strange disease causes the death of everybody over the age of 21, leaving the small town with only children and a few young adults. Once the disease was announced to the world, the town was then set in a quarantine to keep infected people in and healthy people out. Without proper adult supervision, the town of Pretty Lake becomes nothing but a town of chaos.
Between is quite interesting and can have viewers searching for answers. There are only two seasons available to watch on Netflix, and there has not been an announcement as to whether or not there will be a third season.
