82MAJOR Is Taking The K-Pop Scene By Storm

Have you heard of 82MAJOR?

The six-member boy band has taken the Korean pop scene by storm since they released their latest album, SILENCE SYNDROME, on April 14. It set the stage for their first ever international tour—82 SYNDROME.

The group started their overseas tour less than two years after their debut, proving how huge 82MAJOR’s international reach has become.

On June 11, the tour began in Orlando, Florida. This gave the group a chance to meet their United States fandom for the first time.

82MAJOR—also known as Etume—have since appeared at several popular Korean pop festivals, including KCON USA and WATERBOMB BUSAN. At KCON, they performed on multiple stages and joined interactive booths, giving the audience an opportunity to explore their music and each member’s personality.

Similarly, at WATERBOMB BUSAN, a summer festival where performers and crowds engage in playful water fights, they delivered high-quality performances that showcased their ability to thrive in different stages and settings.

By participating in these major events, 82MAJOR has continued to grow in popularity while contributing to the spread of the K-pop genre and culture worldwide.

The group debuted in 2023 with a double-track mini album ON, featuring the songs FIRST CLASS and SURE THING

They immediately stood out for their strong performances and unique sound. They strengthened and polished their abilities before releasing a feature-length album, setting them apart early in their career.

After their first release, the group followed that with BEAT BY 82, a mini-album that featured songs from their SoundCloud, including 82 and ILLEGAL.

They then released X-82, which contained an official version of GOSSIP, a fan favorite composed by the members with help from other producers.

The meaning behind 82MAJOR is just as interesting as the band itself. The number 82 represents South Korea’s country code and MAJOR reflects their ambition to achieve success globally.

With each release, the group has shown how determined they are to live up to their name.

The group is currently preparing for their next project, and while official details are yet to be confirmed, fans believe that unreleased songs like SAY MORE and SUSPICIOUS, performed during their tour, may appear on the new album alongside new tracks.

In just under two years, the group’s quick rise from newbies to international superstars shows not only their talent and persistence, but also how they are shaping the next generation of K-pop.
