The Miami Book Fair is offering a six-week creative writing course: Character Development with Fabienne Josaphat. It starts on September 19 and runs through October 24 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Wolfson Campus.

Josaphat writes nonfiction, and fiction books as well as screenplays. She published her first novel titled Dancing in the Baron’s Shadow in February 2016. Josaphat earned her MFA degree in Creative Writing from Florida International University.

The purpose of the course is to create three-dimensional characters in which the writer has to, according to the website, “think outside the box.”  Through a series of writing exercises, discussions, readings, students will learn to create unsympathetic characters, anti-heroes and  avoid the pitfalls of clichés and stereotypes.
