New World School Of The Arts Presents Production Of Sweat

The New World School of the Arts will present Sweat, an award-winning play by Lynn Nottage, at the Louise O. Gerrits Theater, 25 N.E. Second Street.

Performances will be held from Feb. 23 to March 3 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.  and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Sweat is the story of working-class people at a factory in Reading, Pennsylvania who are laid off following the re-industrialization of their town.

“Stories of people like this deserve to be told,” said James Randolph, a professor who is serving as director of the NWSA production. “This story is prototypical, meaning that people like this exist in every pocket of America.”

General admission to the event is $12 and $5 for seniors and students.

For more information, contact the NWSA at nwsainfo@mdc.edu or at (305) 237 3541.
