Sharks’ Fernandez Earns Citrus Conference First-Team Honors

Miami Dade College sophomore Juan Miguel Fernandez was tabbed to the Citrus Conference First-Team by the Florida College System Athletic Association.

The right-hander posted a 9-3 mark for MDC this season and struck out 83 batters while posting a 3.95 earned run average. 

Sharks third baseman D’Angelo Ortiz, catcher Geremy Garcia and outfielder Michael Petite were named to the Citrus Conference Second-Team.

Ortiz posted a team-leading .467 batting average, Garcia led the team in RBI with 52 and added seven home runs and Petite was the team leader in home runs with nine while boasting a .291 batting average. 

Outfielder Maikol Perez was named to the All-Defensive Team.
