Beyond Van Gogh Digital Art Exhibit Brings Masterpieces To Life

A new walk through art exhibition has made its way to Miami.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience opened to the public on April 15 at the Ice Palace Studios, 1400 N Miami Ave.

The exhibition frees art from their frames using projection technology in a 20,000-square-foot space to showcase the masterpieces of post-impressionist Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. It  gives people the opportunity to re-discover the artist and share his emotion with the world.

“Everyone around the world has seen Van Gogh’s art in one form or another, whether it’d be in a museum or a coffee mug,” said Mathieu St-Arnaud, Creative Director of Beyond Van Gogh. “He is part of our global culture and by stepping beyond the frame, beyond the myth of the tortured artist, we invite people to meet Vincent, the man behind the vision. To see the world as he saw it for a brief moment, leaving a lasting memory.”

Beyond Van Gogh is composed of three main spaces and features more than 300 of Van Gogh’s paintings, sketches, and letters through two-story projections. Attendees can expect to see many of the artist’s iconic works such as The Starry Night, Vase with Twelve Sunflowers, and Café Terrace at Night

“When walking into Van Gogh’s painting, we can sense the immense beauty and simplicity of the everyday life he saw,” St-Arnaud said. “That is very comforting, especially during this pandemic crisis.”

At the venue, attendees must follow CDC protocols such as wearing face masks at all times and social distance by staying six feet apart.

Throughout the exhibit there will also be multiple hand sanitizer stations and attendees will be required to make contactless transactions.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has been showcased across the world in cities like London, Barcelona, and Berlin. Now, the exhibit has made its way to the United States by launching in Atlanta and New York.

In the future, the exhibit will be coming to cities like Dallas, Boston, and Seattle.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Miami will run through July 11. It is closed on Monday and open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Admission ticket prices range from $24 for children to $94 for VIP packages plus applicable fees.
