Eduardo J. Padrón Campus To Host STEM Pathways Event

The Academic Affairs Department at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus is hosting Paid Research and Your Doctoral Aspirations! on Aug. 11 from noon to 1 p.m. and Aug. 12 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Its purpose is to help Miami Dade College students have a smoother transition to Florida International University’s McNair Scholars Program, which prepares doctoral students who are low income, first generation and underrepresented.

Some of the subjects that will be discussed are how to access scholarships, fellowships, paid research internships, and travel assistance for professional and academic conferences.

The Paid Research and Your Doctoral Aspirations! event is open to the public and encouraged for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) majors.

To RSVP and receive a link for the event, email mdc-fiu@mdc.edu. For more information, contact Grant Programs Office Specialist Rossana Aranda at (305) 237-7538 or rarandaa@mdc.edu.
