Miami Dade College received $2 million from Google.org to fund the growth of the National Applied Artificial Intelligence Consortium.
Funds from the grant will be used to enhance professional training and digital infrastructure, as well as develop AI-based curriculum for both K-12 and college educators.
The grant was announced during the Navigating the AI Era: Strategies from Classroom to Career panel discussion at Wolfson Campus on Oct. 21.
Speakers included Ben Gomes, chief technologist of learning and sustainability at Google, City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Florida Rep. Mike Giallombardo and MDC President Madeline Pumariega.
The NAAIC is a collaboration between MDC, Houston Community College and Maricopa County Community College District to develop artificial intelligence professionals.
