Hialeah Campus Appoints New iCED Director

The Institute for Civic Engagement & Democracy at Hialeah Campus selected Christina Sudduth as its new director in July.

Sudduth, 36, will lead efforts with students and faculty to increase democratic engagement and community service.

I am looking forward to learning more about the Hialeah community…and supporting students as they strengthen their knowledge and ability to become leaders,” Sudduth said.

Sudduth began working in community engagement at Miami Dade College in 2010 as a service learning coordinator at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus. Two years later, she fought food insecurity in Central West Florida and Greater Miami until 2018 by serving as a program coordinator for Florida Impact. From 2018 to 2021, she served as a project manager at the Mailman Center for Child Development at the University of Miami.

Sudduth earned her bachelor’s in nutrition science from Oregon State University in 2010 and her master’s in public health from the University of South Florida in 2015.
