Kendall Campus Appoints New Student Life Director
Wendy Garcia started as the new student life director at Kendall Campus on July 4.
Her responsibilities include managing the department’s budget, supervising staff, promoting cultural diversity programs and giving assistance to clubs and organizations.
“I want to be able to fill the college with continued fun, great collegiate bonds and successful [Miami Dade College] future graduates,” Garcia said.
Before her current role, Garcia served as the senior academic and career advisor at Kendall Campus from 2019 to 2022.
Prior to MDC, Garcia worked at DeVry University from 2006 through 2012 serving as a financial aid consultant and a student success coach.
From March of 2013 to September of 2015, Garcia served as a financial aid advisor for Sanford-Brown College and as an admissions officer at Keiser University from October of 2015 through March 2016. She then worked at Florida SouthWestern State College from September of 2016 to September of 2019 as a student success advisor.
Garcia obtained her bachelor’s degree in human resource management from DeVry University in 2011. She earned a second bachelor’s degree in communications in 2012, a master’s degree in adult learning in 2014 and her education specialist degree in adult education in 2021 all from Walden University.
