Meek Center Selects New Director Of Student Services

North Campus’ Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center appointed Joshua Arjona as director of student services on July 1.

Arjona will oversee advisement, admissions and registration, testing, financial aid and the new student center.

“I look forward to connecting the community with the Meek Center,” Arjona said. “That is the vision of our executive director, so I want to take that vision and make it a reality.”

Prior to his new role, Arjona worked as a pre-college advisor at North Campus from May of 2020 to June 2024 and as a student services assistant from October of 2011 to May of 2020. Before that, he served as a testing proctor for three years.

Outside of Miami Dade College, Arjona worked at the Great Miami YMCA from 2000 through 2006, serving as a camp counselor, lifeguard and director of child care programs.

The 43-year-old, who plays the trumpet, piano and drums, earned an associate’s degree in music from MDC in 2013. Six years later, he attained a bachelor’s degree in office supervision and management with a concentration in human resources, also from MDC.
