Organist Mike LeDonne To Perform At Wolfson Campus

Mike LeDonne will perform on Jan. 18 at noon in Room 1261 at Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. 2nd Ave. LeDonne as part of the Jazz at Wolfson Presents Visiting Artist Series. He will be playing a Hammond B-3 organ and is expected to play songs such as “A lot of Livin’ to Do” and “Sweetie Sweetie Dee.”

“He’s a virtuoso jazz artist performing on the unique Hammond B-3 organ,” said Michael Di Liddo, the founder and director of the Jazz at Wolfson Presents Visiting Artist Series.

At the age of 10, he started playing the Hammond Organ. Throughout his career, LeDonne has collaborated with swing musician Benny Goodman, played with the Milt Jackson Quartet, and was an accompanist to Ernestine Anderson. In 2012, he was nominated for Best Keyboard by the Jazz Journalist Association and won the Downbeat Rising Star for organ.

This performance is free to the public. For more information, contact Michael Di Liddo at (305) 237-3930 or mdiliddo@mdc.edu
