Sabrina Carpenter’s Style Evolves During Her Short N Sweet Era

Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter has dominated the musical landscape in the past four months. Her singles, Espresso and Please, Please, Please, have sat at the top of the charts, and her music videos have garnered millions of views.

Her recently released sophomore album, Short n’ Sweet, is her most sincere and infectious work, mixing introspective lyrics and catchy melodies. Its concept revolves around a month-long situationship—or at least a short-term fling that left her vulnerable.

This era of her career is marked by a newfound peak in her fame, accompanied by some of the most iconic looks of her career, like when she walked for Vogue World wearing custom Jacquemus. Or when she adorned a custom-made Oscar De La Renta gown at the Met Gala.

The entire premise of her look consists of vintage-inspired wear with an emphasis on old Hollywood glamor. This has been on full display in her music videos. She wore a red corset dress in her Please, Please, Please video and donned a 1950s-inspired bathing suit for her Espresso video.

She continues this essence with her most recent music video, Taste. In it, she wears capri pants and a striped red and white top.

Her evolved style has consistently been a nod to classic movie fashion, which proves her dedication to the vintage aesthetic. Throughout her public appearances and music videos, she has solidified her style as the embodiment of old Hollywood glamor with a contemporary twist.

Throughout the rollout of her new album, one of her most notable looks has been an ode to the 1960s babydoll dress, which is now essential to her brand. This dress can be seen in one promotional photoshoot for her lead single Espresso, in her tour photography, and recently in her visualizers for the songs Bed Chem and Juno.

Moreover, she also references the 1970s with a denim ensemble on her album cover.

Emulating the iconic Sabrina Carpenter aesthetic is straightforward, necessitating only a few elements. With a focus on a playful, distinctly feminine, and lively style, the standout piece required is undoubtedly the iconic babydoll dress silhouette, ideally crafted from chiffon fabric and adorned with intricate lace embellishments.

Next, of course, is the footwear. To compensate for her short stature, Carpenter is always seen in tall shoes, wearing either a go-go boot or a stiletto. So, the taller the shoe, the better.

Additionally, consider applying extra blush for that flushed look she’s known for.

However, the options are not confined to sheer feminine dresses alone; for a relaxed appearance, contemplate a corset top combined with capri pants and chunky heels.

The key is to channel the singer’s fun and flirty personality while keeping it a bit risque because that’s what the entire album is. It’s a humorous yet vulnerable look into the short relationships that have a lasting impact on a person’s self.
