Valve’s Steam Deck Will Deliver PC Games On The Go

The Nintendo Switch revolutionized the gaming world, allowing you to bring gaming anywhere.

Ever since its release, it has dominated the market of mobile gaming and has seen little to no serious competition.

 Until now.

On July 16, a new item arose in the Steam marketplace.

The Steam Deck, a revolutionary new take on mobile gaming, became available to reserve at just a $5 fee.

Valve has been quietly working on this portable PC, which will start at $399.

It houses a 7-inch LCD 60Hz touchscreen, a D-pad and the capability to run any game from your Steam library.

Gone are the days where you have to settle for playing Mario Kart and Animal Crossing on the Switch.

Now you’ll be able to take games like Crusader Kings 3, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), Rainbow Six Siege, and basically any other game onto the mobile console.

And if you want, you can also connect it to a monitor and keyboard and use it as a mounted desktop.

Packing 16GB of RAM, an AMD built processor topping out at 3.5 GHz, and a microSD slot to expand storage, the Steam Deck is on pace to outdo the Switch.

Now, it’s not a 144hz screen with a Ryzen 7 or anything, but it’s not supposed to be.

This is perfect for the gamer who wants to take his gaming mobile, and not break the bank. It gets the job done, and does what it needs to do, which is to let you play anything you want, anywhere you want.

Valve has this gem running on SteamOS, which is like a mix of Linux and Windows. This lets you run games that are native to both operating systems.

Even better, you can actually completely uninstall SteamOS, and install any operating system or launcher you want, even if it’s a direct competitor to Valve, like Epic Games.

It’s clear Valve made this product thinking about the gamer first, which is a breath of fresh air to gamers who are used to the money-pinching methods of non-compatibility consoles like the PS4 and Xbox.

Steam expects to ship out Steam Decks in December if everything goes according to plan.
