Antonio Delgado Selected As VP Of Innovation and Technology Partnerships

Antonio Delgado has been selected as the new vice president of innovation and technology partnerships at Miami Dade College. He started his new post on Aug. 13.

Delgado, 36, is responsible for connecting faculty and students from all campuses with the latest technology by creating partnerships with companies like Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon and IBM.

“[We] prepare students with the skills to get a job here locally, so that they can get a job that is high-paying here in our community,” Delgado said.

For the past six years, Delgado worked as the college-wide dean of the School of Engineering, Technology, and Design, Generation IT Program Manager, and as lead Instructor for the McKinsey Social Initiative at MDC.

Delgado earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana in Havana, Cuba. He also received a master’s degree in computer networks from the University of Westminster in London, United Kingdom.

Diana Lima

Diana Lima, 19, is a chemical engineering major at North Campus. Lima, who graduated from Miami Lakes Educational Center in 2020, will serve as a forum and briefing writer for The Reporter during 2021-2022 school year. She aspires to become a research and development chemist and work in the pharmaceutical industry.
