Museum Of Art And Design Awarded $250,000 Grant
Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art and Design was awarded the Institute for Museum and Library Services’ Museums for America grant on Aug. 9.
The $250,000 grant will fund the project entitled Miami Legacy of Freedom: Chronicling 100 Years of The Freedom Tower.
This initiative aims to restore the 99-year-old building’s infrastructure and preserve its history. It’s expected to be completed in July of 2025, in time for the Freedom Tower’s 100th anniversary and reopening.
The Museum of Art and Design is one of 115 museums nationwide to receive this funding.
“I’m so thrilled…it just means so much to have the support of IMLS; it affirms the work that we’re doing,” said Amy Galpin, executive director and chief curator of MOAD.
